Chrome grille cover for radiator

Thinking about getting one of these. Does anyone have one, and does it effect the cooling system. Do want the bike over heating. Thanks

I have the Vulcan one with the vertical lines.. No issues at all with cooling. Looks sharp and adds chrome which is always good.

Lot of people have radiator covers without any problems. You should be fine.

I've been tempted to get one but here in the Arizona desert road surface temps can hit 165 degrees in the summer. IMHO it just doesn't seem wise to put anything in front of the radiator when riding under those conditions.
I could be wrong but my gut says no.

I have one on the voyager and had one on the nomad, the design will have a lot to do with how much cool air gets through to the rad itself, with an open design like that there should be no problem.

i haven't had any problems with mine overheating. Bought it from ebay as well. I had to bend the peg a tiny bit on one side to install it properly but it wasn't any problem

I will have to agree with Bill on this one. With the Extreme heat in AZ I would leave the radiator as unblocked as possible , in fact I'd run either Blue Ice coolant or add some water wetter to aide in cooling.

Bill, I live in Houston which by Arizona standards is cool. I started using Engine Ice in my 2000 Nomad several years ago, and noticed a difference right away. It really does run cooler and the fan didn't come on so often. You probably already know this, but it's just Propylene Glycol and deionized water mixed and ready to pour. Could do your own with generic Propylene and water you mix yourself if one was budget minded. In this case, at 18 bucks a pop, I'll be lazy and order their product.
