Monkeyman.... Adding a HD fairing and lowers will cut down on buffeting but not eliminate it.
I've riden Dave's Ultra and it's about the same behind his fairing and lowers with my windshield and edmonds... no better...

Just saying if your buying it strickly for function instead of how nice they look your not getting your monies worth.

I like the look but I want the function as far as the extra guages and radio/speakers. I'm sure there are better (and possibly cheaper) ways of efficiently redirecting air. I'm getting some Edmonds lowers now as the HD fairing probably isn't in the budget this year. Next year I'll add the HD fairing then I'll have to figure out the best way to keep my helmet on my head. :)

Send a PM to Bdog he made an air dam to fit above the front fender to help with wind buffetting. HD makes something similar. I have no experience with the item. And you could read this thread.
