Finding out more about my Vaquero

Hey gang, so I purchased my '12 Vaquero from my father, and I thought he had drilled out the stock pipes. After reading here for a while, I asked him today what he did to them, and he said they were V&H he thinks that the previous owner installed. Is there a way to see what they are?
Also, it has a hypercharger and a FI2000 i believe. It seems to be running rich as I can smell fuel sometimes and seems to have alot of backfiring upon decel.
I've read through the Ivan's ecu reflash and pair valve blocking. How can I tell if these have been preformed? Also, what do I do to adjust the 2000 to lean it out a bit and maybe gain performance?

If the ECU has been reflashed by Ivan it will have a Ivan sticker on it.

If it has a fuel tuner on it, and if it backfires on decel - then it's not had Ivan's flash.

If the pipes are V&H, they'll be stamped with their logo. Post a picture though, & we'll soon tell you what they are.

What Peg Said! If its got a fuel tuner, they don't do that great on the 1700's, it a completely diff. beast, and Ivans reflasher is the only way to go....
If its reflashed, take the tuner off....
At the end of your pipes, it should have V&H logo on it if they are true V&H's....

Pulled the ECU and didn't see any stickers on it. Maybe I'll send it in this Winter as long as the fiance will allow me to spend that kind of dough haha!

Here are the pictures of the ends of the pipes, and the stamp in it for identification.

I opened up the fi2000 and noticed the pot was turned clockwise a good amount from the black dot from cobras setting. I turned it back to the black dot and will ride later to see if it fixes the fuel smell, and backfiring.

I also went to tighten the exhaust to head bolts thinking that could cause the backfiring, but they seemed tight to me.

The C is probably for Cobra.
Sell the Fi2000 and get the ECU flash.
The ECU flash will probably cure the backfiring.
The Ivan sticker on the ECU is large, you cant miss it if its there.

Cobra TRI-ovals for the exhaust pictures you have shown.

As others have stated, lose the Fi2000 and get the ECU flashed by IVAN. The best money you will ever spend on that bike in my opinion.

Ride safe,
Smokier

Depending on where you live you could have your ECU back in a week or less. He does the reflash and gets them in the post the same day they arrive in most cases.

If she was okay with $ spent on buying the bike she should be okay with $ spent to make it better/safer for her soon to be husband. If it was me I would throw the hyper charger in the trash and contact Chucksters for an intake as well as sending the ECU off asap. Congrats on the upcoming wedding.

Thanks! I'm not fond of the hypercharger for sure. I like the other intake kits, but I feel they're way pricey for what they are.
I've got a Suzuki M109R that I've modded pretty heavily, and I'm assuming the fiance won't want to go down that road again at the moment

I have the same Cobra Tri-Ovals on my Vaquero. It used to backfire and even hesitate on accel and decel. Bought an Ivan's tune ECU off a fellow member here, and it's like a whole new bike. Still nice rumble, but smoooooooth accel and decel. Definately more power and better throttle reponse, and better gas mileage. Well worth the coin. Get rid of the fi2000 tuner. Clean your muffler tips, they really are shiny chrome under all that carbon soot.
