What is the black plastic part behind the cylinder?

hi everyone - I’ve never posted here before because I don’t have a voyager yet and am just getting familiar with them. I’ve been looking into getting a 2010-2012 Voyager, and notice that some have a black plastic cowling of some kind behind the rear cylinder on the left side of the bike. Does anyone know what that is?

Hi and welcome! Peg is right with his link of the KAMS. I would make sure that the one you end up buying has this option or you will be disappointed. Also check into Ivan's ECU flash as that will make the bike run much cooler among many other advantages.

I've had mine flashed went with one of chuckster's intakes on the right side an a cover plate on the left.
Then I removed the KAMS system. Without everything blocking the air flow it's no hotter than the Nomad.
The sig pic if before I did it.
