First I would try disconnecting the battery and reconnect . If that doesn't help then leave the battery disconnected and remove the chrome bezel covering your display unit . There should be two connectors hidden at the front . Check for corrosion or broken wires leading to it . A break could even be hidden deep inside the connector so look closely . Hopefully it's as easy as that . You may have to dig deeper , but that's a good place to start . Others may have ideas too . . . Good luck

Mine did that and I ended up replacing it with a used unit.

The LCD craps out.

What MAS said! I have replaced the used units, and then had to correct the mileage by sending them off or taking them to a speedo place to have the mileage redone.
Theres a place over on the East Coast that will totally redo/rebuild your speedo, but its rather expensive by bone yard standards, but they do a great job. By rebuild, I mean they take the whole thing apart and replace the leds, odometer, even fix your fuel gauge, whatever is needed, etc....
Even comes with a warranty. Usually about 1-2weeks turnaround....

Yeah, kind of a barn find but wasn't in a barn. It sat outside for many, many years. So far this has been the first peculiar issue that may be due to age and sitting outside.

Thanks for the ideas.
