The one thing we all share is a serious passion for riding and motorcycles. The occasional "dust-up" in this forum is nothing new or different....just another day at the office!

I can assure you it is worth a ride to Estes just to smoke one or two of BD's cigars. Not only are they top-notch smokes...he pays for them...!!

I'm happy that everyone is riding and loving their rides, whatever they be. I've said it wrong before,
and I'll try not to offend those people again, BUT, you are coming on too strong with your happiness
for the bike that does for you, what mine does for me.

I don't think it's a "you get what you pay for" message you should be saying. We all expect different
things from the products we buy. If you're happy, I'm happy for you. Just don't make me feel like I now
own a piece of junk that is out dated, because there is something out there that suits your particular needs.

Mine is more bike then I need, and I have a feeling that there are more who feel this way as well.

As far as chasing away members who have contributed so much to the boards and the many members
who have had problems. I don't feel that is right, these members have gone over and above to
help as many as they could and they still do it. I believe that those who have been over zealous
should just tone it down. You do not know how your words read, PEACE.
Exactly... And more eloquently said than my more abrasive approach.

Just to throw my two bits in,Since joining this forum I have gained a lot of great info on a lot of brands and other bikes and other subjects. I like that. On Harley forums you hear about HD. I suspect it's the same on other sites.
I think most of what goes on here is mostly good hearted fun and BS. So a good sense of humor and broad shoulders might come in handy. I pride my self on having both. Having never met the people here, I look forward to doing so and checking out all of the bikes you ride. As for my self, I'm just waiting for that one good lottery ticket so I can have one or two of each.

I wish I could meet you west coast people, maybe someday.
Kris I would drink your applepie and smoke a cigar from Brad in a heart beat. Maybe even give Scott and Jim some scorpion killing lessons.

Speaking of Apple Pie...I downed a jar the other night watching "Lincoln". Good movie....tasty spirits. That last get-up from my lounge chair was a bit challenging...but I was up to the task...barely!

Just so everyone knows, I have very tactfully been sending all my comments about ST1300s to Greg by PM, rather than openly posting them, so the XCT riders wouldn't feel bad about having laid out all that coin for the wrong bike!

Just so everyone knows, I have not sent Greg any PM's whatsoever so that he can form his own opinion based on his own personal research...and spend however much or little of his own money as he is comfortable spending...!!

Come on Greg...what's the holdup...??

The site was put together with the concept of it being "in a bar" where everyone sits around and shoots the sh...

Secondly, the rules are that no one is to take anything personal (read the rules of the site, it is on there).

However, if you look at it from the previously mentioned point of view of being in a bar, you shouldn't be offended so much... maybe some at times... but not so much.

Typically, if you don't like what you hear, you simply throw the crap back, while you tip your beer and order another round -- biting at the bullet for the moment to throw some more crap out about someone.

When the day is done, everyone's bike, personality, quirks, and comments were ripped-on... and it all ended as a fun evening. That's all it is... nothing more, nothing less.

And lastly... I do believe you would have a different opinion if you meet some of these fellas in person. You then can see their eyes and expressions when comments are made -- and realize words alone do NOT tell the whole story. Don't short-change yourself by holding pre-conceived ideas of what you will or will not like.

So... we'll see you in Estes Park with your bike...

Wow, sorry my thread started a firestorm.

We have all known BD since we joined. He is our town jester.

Meeting someone in person and some history does make a big difference. These are all good guys. BD, Netnorske, GWilson, Cactusjack and many more that have moved on to different bikes helped me and many others over the years with our Vulcans (among other things) and continue to help current members.

Sometimes we forget this site has grown and there are hundreds of people we don't know that click on our posts that don't have that history or haven't met.

I strongly encourage every VBA member to attend as many rally's possible, you will see what a great group we have. If that is not possible just keep in mind that we have a great group and if you disagree with anyone's post just count to 10 then make your point in a constructive manner. We are just friends sitting around the campfire.

BD, CJ, Kris, GWilson and all other non Vulcans (except Honda ST1300's).....your bikes are a piece of crap and mine is better!
