I have given Beemers serious consideration; especially the 1200. I looked at the 16 when I was at the bike show, and at a dealer this summer. Surprisingly, I could actually fit the bike.

Not sure if they changed the configuration or is I had sat on one previously that was hiked-up or something. All I could remember is it was too tall.

I know I have not grown taller.

Given my favored riding style... I need to be on a Beemer or another ST style bike of sorts.

The suspension can be adjusted for single, single plus luggage and two up. If it was set to anything other than single rider, it'll be higher. The GT has a different seat than the GTL and sits higher as well. The new R1200RT is lower than mine as well and has a choice of three seats, a low, standard and high. I bet the low seat would work for you. BMW dealers are usually pretty good at test rides. I know a guy at Countryside BMW in IL. He's a good salesman to deal with. I almost bought a bike from him.

I will have to look at them further eventually.

Right now I would be shot where I stand if I bought another bike...
