florida trip

Well after finding this winter to be dragging on and on my wife and i decided to head to florida for a week and a half.We will be trailering the bike down to daytona for bike week in march. the plan is to take in bike week and head down to the keys. Looking for input on things to see and do in florida ,scenic roads to take and good places to stay . Also looking for a place to park the truck and trailer in the daytona area .any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.

stay out of Miami Beach on a Sat. other than that the coast ride down a1a is great all the way to Key West might ck on a storage place around Daytona unless we have some member on here that has a place you can park

Just north of Daytona by about 20 miles is a beautiful beach town Flagler Beach. It's a much nicer place to stay than Daytona. I'm not a big fan of the keys though the ride is beautiful but usually w lots of traffic. Cedar Key is much nicer. It's on the gulf coast so after leaving Flagler or Daytona you can you can ride right through the Ocala Forrest National Park.

thanks manban, for the info. the plan is to gofrom Daytona down to the keys and come up the gulf coast and maybe stay in clearwater. we have a buddy that lives in zephyrhills, so we plan to stop and visit there.Looking at your info, we are going to go through ocala park and stop at flagler beach. thanks for the advice.

You might consider stopping by Coral Castle.
We rode down to Key West two tears ago and really enjoyed it.
You won't go hungry or thirsty down there.

Good to hear about the food and drink budman.Getting thirsty just thinking about it, sunshine, beaches,food and beer .Sounds perfect to me.

I'm in Boca Raton, about halfway between West Palm and Ft Lauderdale.

Clearwater is a mess...read: big city. Z-hills is a nice area and great riding in and around Dade City area and over toward Mt. Dora.

When you are in the area, let me know and maybe we can meet up.
