MSF RIDING COURSE QUESTION

Haven't taken it yet. However, the wife and I are taking it together in March or April this year. Purchased her a scooter last fall and want her to take it before she does much driving on it. Figured, why not take it together.

Hopefully we won't get into too many fights over who is doing it right and wrong.

MSF RIDING COURSE QUESTION

I took the basic course last September. I had to wait 6 weeks to get in an opening. Couldn't stand the wait, I bought the Nomad the week before I took the course, then polished the paint off it for a week.
I bribed my daughter into taking it this spring.

MSF RIDING COURSE QUESTION

Good to hear you folks are going to take the course. Please be sure to give me feed back. Surprisingly, I've quite a few husband/wife take the course together. Any time students show uo with someone they know, I always seperate them in the classroom, that way we avoid any of those disagreement issues.

MSF RIDING COURSE QUESTION

I completed both basic and advanced riding courses but they were years ago. I never heard of an intermediate course in this area. VA DMV has a program where new riders can complete a Virginia Rider Training Program course and subsequently obtain their class "M" (motorcycle) endorsement after successfully completing it. I encourage every new rider to take that course. The requirements can be viewed below.

MSF RIDING COURSE QUESTION

I took all the courses including the Instructor's Course held at the University of Illinois (DeKalb) back in the early 80's.

I taught the basic course at the College of Lake County, and the course on the Navy Base while I was stationed at Great Lakes.

vin,

I only give private lessons now

I could still teach, but it has been so long since my Instructor's Certificate expired that I would probably have to go through some kind of Instructor refresher course. I noticed they don't even call them Instructors anymore. ::)

MSF RIDING COURSE QUESTION

Hello guys. I just started riding 4/3/08 when I purchased my new `07 Nomad. I have been trying to get into the local basic course down here in Louisiana. I'm having problems lining up one of my 2 weekends off per month with the course dates. I've ridden 1,100 miles in the first month. I could really use some parking lot coaching. I purchased Jerry "Motorman" Paladino's Ride Like a Pro IV. I urge all newbies like myself to buy it, watch it and practice the exercises. I think even vets like you guys that haven't seen the DVD would get something out of it. It's great being a member of KawaNOW. Thanks for all of your input in the forums. I learn something new every day. Ride carefully!

MSF RIDING COURSE QUESTION

Motorcycle Safety Program

Course Price List

Basic Rider Course (BRC) $225.00
Out of state residents $250.00

Experienced Rider Course (ERC) $85.00
Out of state residents $100.00

This is what it cost here in Alabama I grew up on a dairy farm and have been riding since I was around 14 yrs old.

And No I will not be taking either course, not that I disapprove of them Just cost to much here.

MSF RIDING COURSE QUESTION

None for me. I started riding as a kid in the late 60's, so I just got grandfathered in. We didn't have any of that fancy sh*t. We just rode until we fell off, and then picked it up and said "Well, I'll never do it like that again!" Eventually we learned to ride.
