I know what you mean on size availability. You can find kids clothes anywhere, but you have to go some to find men's clothes.
I got my leathers from Renegade Classics. One of their stores is local to me.

I have been pleased with my purchases from Leatherup.com. Large selection and great prices. I am wearing their 5x leather jacket.

Most leather shops will carry gear for the "ample" rider. Bikers aren't known for being especially petite individuals. I know I'm not.

There's a place in Phoenix, called Arizona Biker Leathers that has jackets so big they must have used 2 cows to make them.

LeatherUp.Com is where I buy most of my leather, helmets and other stuff. Why pay a crapload more for something American-made, then we'll sound like those "other" bikers who pay outrageous prices for their bikes and everything that goes with them. Don't make sense for anyone to pay more for their leather jacket than they paid for their bike.(little exaggeration there, but you get my point). I try to get the most for my buck, that's why I bought a Nomad in the first place.

For me, there's too much variation is sizing when it comes to leather goods. I'm not an off-the-rack guy either, so I buy where I can try stuff on. Nothing wrong with Leather-Up, I've bought from them in the past and they are a good company. I just haven't been able to get a good fit buying leathers online.

Chaps are sized by how they fit around the thigh. Leather stretches so you want them to fit snug (not tight) around the thigh and they will loosen up as you wear them.
