Why do the rallies {1st and 2nd Nationals} get planned for June??? Is it the the temps. in Aug being too warm for some? June seems to rain a fair bit. The seasons are sure changing, with spring and summer coming later every year it seems.

Ricky, June is cooler than July and August in most places. Also, some school districts start classes in early August. That isn't a concern for me anymore, since my kids have all finished school - but it might be for some.

Rain? I wish it rained here in June! (also May, July, August, etc) ::)

Early August would have worked for me, but it's a no go. I'll be back at work August 18 and the kids start the 25th. That's what our schedule is every year. Ya'll have a great time!

You wouldn't want to drive across Utah and Nevada in early August. It would be HOT!!!!

but that is exactly what i will be doing to get to crescent city next
august.i do have a cooling vest and cooling neck wraps which will

You could take some extra days to take the northern route via Hwy 20 in upper Washington and down the coast. Lots of miles but what a great ride.

Kinda what I was planning on doing to get to Kalispell this year...stay in the cool zone. But some issues I am dealing with may require me to take the shortest route directly through the high desert in Eastern Washington....ugh...hwy 90 in August will be a scorcher and BORING. I despise the interstate but time will dictate.

Oh well Kris (Netnorske) will be buying tall cool ones for all his ARL's for the fine job they have done this year to make him look good....assuming making him look good is possible.

By late August it will be cooling down at least or at least the averages show that.

You guys are mind readers. Rita and I were planning a Pacific Coast ride for next Summer.

Not nearly as far North as Crescent City. But it's only 900 miles and we will have three days to make it there and three to make it back. Should be a pretty easy ride. Count us in.

Stan I was looking at Google maps and you really don't have a straight shot at the coast from Henderson. Was thinking I might be able to ride up the coast a ways with you but unless you head southweast you in for some serious over the mountains riding to get to the coast. Nothing wrong with that other than time.. I can take the coast highway all the way..
