Nomad in city traffic? Why not :)

Well,

I decided to share one of my videos with You. If You think, that Nomad is not suitable bike for driving every day in heavy city traffic... then You're right.

But.. who cares? I run every day 15 km in Warsaw (that's somewhere in Eastern Europe ) . That's how it looks.

Thanks for posting the video. That's probably as close as I will ever get to Warsaw. Enjoyed watching that.

Don't believe that my heart could take riding like that, dodging traffic.

That similar to riding in Toronto's traffic. I seen a Peugeot in the video, they havn't sold those in Canada in 35-40 years, I thought they were out of business.

I don't trust other drivers enough to be squeezing between cars and trucks the way you did.

Nice video, that's almost like riding on US19 during rush hour here in Florida, USA. But for sure, I WILL NOT run between the other vehicles. These suckers will run over you when you try sqeezing between. Have fun and keep the rubber down and shiny side up.

Pretty sure we've already had a discussion about lane splitting. On the off chance we haven't, let me reiterate what I said. I think it's just about the dumbest thing you can do above about 5 mph. All it takes is someone to open a car door and you're a greasy spot on the pavement. The Nomad is a hell of a big bike to do that with, too.

When you're stuck on a California freeway in very hot weather with a mile of cars stopped ahead of you, the ability to split lanes looks awful good. I've done it - very carefully. You just fold up your highway pegs and watch what is going on ahead of you.

Cool vid. With as wide as my bike is, and as aggressive some drivers are, I'd never split lanes.

On almost any US highway or interstate there is a paved shoulder. If I ever felt the need to get through traffic, that is where i'd ride, not between cars.

Thanks for your video. It is interesting to see what others see everyday.

I've split lanes before, but not on the Nomad. It was on my Suzuki Bandit 1200. Traffic was backed up for a mile and me and a friend cut through. It wasn't too bad as everyone was at a stop and we basically "walked" our bikes through. Only had a couple people yell out their windows at us, but most ignored us or chose not to let us know their feelings.

Hi,

Thanks for all opinions. It seems, that Your live out there is not easy... Of course, what You've seen on video is up to 10m/h. But here in Europe it's quite common to drive between cars, especially in southern Europe (Spain, Portugal Italy, Greece). In heavy European traffic it's just don't make sense to let bikers block space in lane.

Of course, there are some freaks that won't let You go, but they won't hurt You... Sometimes I hear about bikers hit by door opened (today my coworker, but she's ok and for sure that was an accident).
