very good idea. I used a small flat bladed screwdriver and lifted delicately all the way around.

Sorry, I just got around to getting a shot of my dash mod with the new speedo face installed. I never liked getting sun flash from the giant chrome dash cowl so I powder coated the cowl and gas cap in matte black. It isn't the chalky feel finish, just diffuses the light. While messing with the gauge, I decided to install a speedohealer too.

that looks really good, I was thinking of having my gas cap on my vaquero powdercoated black also, now I have a good idea what it would look like.

Be careful disassembling the gas cap. Get a rag or something over the opening immediately after opening and before starting the uninstall. Be REALLY careful with the 6 small pressure springs, they are very easy to lose.

You will need to run your tank empty at night to enjoy the light show...

I put one on about 3 yrs ago, one of my first mods. It has held up well with no sun fade, etc. I agree with easy install. After unplugging, did it all right at kitchen table.
