I see the new upcoming world every day mate,and i dont like it a bit.I read some of that article,and ironically,it seems to be taking the piss out of the non metric believers,i'll read the rest later though.

Both the metric system and the imperial system have their purposes and I don’t see it as a competition between them. They serve two different purposes.

Looks like that there are working very dumb engineers which are not able to convert things or to use a calculator. Idiots are everywhere ! So dont blame it on metric or imperial - just say the there is an idiot working, at least one minimum.

That was'nt one bloke,that was an entire team of mathemeticians and engineers,who all assumed that the rest of the world used imperial measurements.They were supposedly educated men,yet they did'nt ( and plenty still dont) realise that they are working with a backward system,one that everyone else in the world abandoned years ago.

The British got it right the first time. That's why it's called the "British Imperial System". Then the British allowed themselves to be brow beaten into submission adopting to everyone else's will. We keep it because it works. The official measure for the United States is " Metric System" .

You are right about the brow beaten bit,but the metric system is so much simpler,and a hell of a lot more accurate too. As for "WE THE PEOPLE", you blokes are getting shafted as much as anyone,if not more so.
