If someone from the 1950s

If someone from the 1950s suddenly appeared today, what would be the most difficult thing to explain to them about life today?

I possess a device in my pocket that is capable of accessing the entirety of information known to man. I use it to look at pictures of motorcycles and get in arguments (or random discussions) with strangers.

Hey Kris, I bet this bike will keep the wind off your legs.

Explaining our technology would be a real tough sell to someone from that era.
Imagine showing them a laptop that does everything from gaming, skyping, sending pics and docs anywhere in the world, copying music and movies, looking up anything, plus the thousands of other uses.
They would think that we have lost our minds.

I think the most difficult thing to explain to them about life today would be the complete decay of morality and people not taking responsibility for their actions.

Thats true, but we all grew up with the advances over the past six decades. If all of a sudden someone just came into it, I'm sure they would be overwhelmed.

Sometimes Scott types before he thinks things through.
Sometimes he thinks things through and still doesn't understand what is going on

To me, it's all about how forward thinking a person is... no matter what era they lived in. If a person is open-minded enough, they can marvel at and accept just about anything that progresses mankind.

I've often wondered what it would be like if I moved in time to say, the 2050's. I think I would certainly marvel at any technological advances of that day. I could also marvel at the textile ironing museum built from the late and great clothes pressing icon...BD.

I think youre right. Modern human curiosity would overcome the anachronisms. We sit here, in this time, remembering fondly the fact that our parents saved bacon grease in a jar on the counter as a food additive or riding in our grandparents cars without seat belts. The advanced speed at which things have progressed is unique to our generation so we may be more adaptable to change, both forward and backward.
