yeah...'diets' don't work..you have to change how you eat..and don't deprive your self all the time...nick said to me once pointing at an overweight person...they "didn't know when to put the fork down" and that stuck with me...I try to know when to put it down..BEFORE you get full

My mother, God Bless her, always made me clean my plate. As I got older the plate turned into the pans. Now I'm starting to leave food on the plate with some still left in the pan. Helps to eat slower, chew more thoroughly and cut out the junk food. WooHoo, our own KawaNOW baby boomer fat farm exercise club. Ready, set ,,,,,,,,,,,,GO

I weighed myself this morning at home, 178, now that was in my b-day suit.Don't think ya want pics of that. 4 hours later I weughed 187, that was with blue jeans, tennis shoes, two shirts, and a belt on. 9 pounds difference and all I had to eat and drink were a cup of coffee and a hlf bowl of special K. But I will keep everyone posted as to the progress.I might have an advantage due to the 3 weekly sessions at the rehab center and the low sodium, low cholesterol, low fat, low fun diet I am now on.

Need an update before this slips into oblivion. I have not had a chance to exercise since Monday. Should be able to do so tomorrow after work. Have been watching what I eat, smaller portions etc. Hopefully I will have good news from the scales this weekend.

Here is my cardio workout. I did this yesterday on the treadmill and burned over 430 calories. I'm not a runner, but I have worked up to jogging at 5.8-6.0 mph for the one minute at level 9. I don't go much over 4.0-4.2 in speed, instead choosing to use incline to great a greater level of intensity. This is perceived intensity, which means how much you feel you are working. This workout has helped my breathing considerably, since I have asthma and my heart rate. You can use this on any cardio machine.

If you want a copy of it and copying and pasting doesn't work, let me know. I have it saved on an Excel spreadsheet.

Minute 1: Intensity Level 2 (warm-up)
Minute 2: Intensity Level 3
Minute 3: Intensity Level 4
Minute 4: Intensity Level 5 (you should start feeling it now)
Minute 5: Intensity Level 6
Minute 6: Intensity Level 7
Minute 7: Intensity Level 8 (you should be pushing extremely hard)
Minute 8: Intensity Level 9 (you should be struggling to keep up)
Minute 9: Intensity Level 5
Minute 10: Intensity Level 5
Minute 11: Intensity Level 6
Minute 12: Intensity Level 6
Minute 13: Intensity Level 7
Minute 14: Intensity Level 7
Minute 15: Intensity Level 8
Minute 16: Intensity Level 8
Minute 17: Intensity Level 5
Minute 18: Intensity Level 5
Minute 19: Intensity Level 6
Minute 20: Intensity Level 6
Minute 21: Intensity Level 7
Minute 22: Intensity Level 7
Minute 23: Intensity Level 8
Minute 24: Intensity Level 8
Minute 25: Intensity Level 5
Minute 26: Intensity Level 6
Minute 27: Intensity Level 7
Minute 28: Intensity Level 8
Minute 29: Intensity Level 9 (you should be struggling again)
Minute 30: Intensity Level 5
Minute 31: Intensity Level 5
Minute 32: Intensity Level 4 (cool-down)
Minute 33: Intensity Level 4
Minute 34: Intensity Level 3
Minute 35: Intensity Level 2
