I truly believe Dave got one of the HD's that were sabotaged by disgruntled union workers.

This was during the time, post 2008, when HD was having major financial troubles and were laying people off and threatening to move out of Wisconsin -- among other things. It was public knowledge there were shenanigans going-on at the assembly plants.

His is an '09 (I believe), and there are plenty of horror-stories where disgruntled workers would intentionally (so accused to be doing) screw-up bikes.

One of the most common accusations was they would hook-up the electrical-system up incorrectly - causing problems whereby a dealer would virtually have to dismantle the bike to get to wires and chase them... a time-consuming and costly process.

There were other issues reported also.

I have an '09 and haven't had the problems Dave has had...

These are the type of people I won't support. Just another reason to buy metric.
