Engine knock when really hot out.

I was noticing the other day that when I got home ridding from work my engine was knocking a little bit kinda like it was a little low on oil checked the oil and all was fine. The tems outside were about 104. So I was running lucas 10w40 semi syn and it was time for a oil change so I thought go with a little thicker oil so I went with a 20w50 full syn but still no change it really get noisy when ridding two up we just got back from a 900 mile ride in about 110-114 deg weather but now at home its in the low 80s out and I dont hear it.

Are you sure it was a knock? Pinging is not uncommon in temps like that, especially if you're running lean. The fact that it's not doing it in cool temperatures confirms it. Do you have a fuel processor? What octane fuel were you using?

if it sounds Dabull's., it sounds normal to me. Thats valve clatter or ISC solenoids clattering. Not sure about spirello's since i cant hear his.
