Dunlop Elite 3s

I have them on the front and back of my 07 1600. No problem with the back, but the front while looking at them with a bright light, you can see thin spider like cracking. Only about 6 or 7000 miles on them. Time to change it?

Cracking in the top surface of the tread blocks or down in the tread grooves?

Top surface, I would just keep and I on it to see if it gets bigger, connected cracks. Down in the tread more of an issue. if the cracks are shallow and not exposing the tire reinforcement to the elements, again monitor it to make sure it doesn't get worse. If the cracks are deep enough to get to the tire reinforcment then probably change them out now.

Does your bike get parked outside all the time? Parked in the shade or in a garage? If parked outside all the time then the sun is degrading the tire material, ozone degradation.

Check the tires date code on the sidewall, maybe they are getting old and have been on a shelf for years before you bought them.

Use a search engine to look up "Tire Date Codes" to learn how to read them.

Ill check the date codes.. good point. No, parked in the garage and I only see it on the side walls. Ne deep cracks in the treads. Thanks guys.

never use cracked tires, period. They will mess you up if they blow on these heavy bikes....
Go by your dates on the sidewalls....everything has a expiration date, even the sun....

Back tire looks good. It looks like the Elite 3s aren't sold anymore. Suggested replacement for the front?

ME 888 or a Commander 3, if they are made in the correct size ?
