I got over 19,000 with the dunlop E3's on my 1700 Nomad!

I went back with a MII on rear. Left front alone this time around.

Pulling the tire was not that bad. It will be quicker next time as I will know what to pull

Think I might try the "take off the shocks" method and see what that does.

$35.00 for mount. Took 3 hrs and I had it back. Back on the road just in time for a cold front to push through lol.....

I'm thrilled to get 4k miles from a rear tire on my Nomad. From other tire wear discussions had here, I've concluded it has everything to do with riding style, the guys hitting 20k on a set of tires also tend to short shift and never spin their tachs past 4k. Not a criticism, ride your own ride and all that, just observation. Perhaps I flog ol' "Norah" so hard because I miss my Meanstreak, but the fact these Vulcan motors can rev is why I ride GREEN.

On a side note, I've found rear tire changes are much easier if you simply remove the rear fender (on a Nomad anyway). Leaving a 900lb bike 3ft in the air for days on a 30x20" jack doesn't sit well with me!

Putting on Shinko 777HD today stock Bridgestone had 7,121 miles
1 plug and 1 small nail had at least 1000 miles left.

I like those tires. They now have the stock size of rear tire that is Shinko SR777 H.D. 170/70/B-16 81H. I have a new one ready to replace my old Shinko 777 H.D. 180/65/B-16 81H.

I didn't know they had that I order mine 4 months ago when I picked up a screw the decided to plug it against my better judgement plugged it got 2000 more miles out and started loosing air 10 lbs over 2 weeks put the 180-65-16 last night It rides good and I found a small nail in the old one.
I hope it goes 10000-12000 mi we will see.
I ride hard but no burn outs.

I just put on a set of Shinko SR999 Long Haul on this past week 130/90 and 170/70. need to break them in yet but my stock rear lasted ~4700 miles before it was bald in the center

I'll be anxious to see what kind of mileage you get.

The AVON cobra have been my choice since 2009. Only down fall is they are a bit pricey now a days.

Well I got another 1000 miles out of the stock BS front 8,236 just put on the Shinko
999 front the rear 777 now has just over 1000 you can see slight ware but looks good so far.

I've run commander 2&3's. Very happy with them. I get about 15000 miles out of them. So much better than the stock Exedra.
