Leak

Okay guys, I am having a problem I don't understand. My '01 Nomad is leaking gear oil at the boot at the rear of the engine where the drive shaft is. I thought the drive shaft tube was dry so why would I have gear oil leaking there?

Leak

Probably a worn pinion shaft seal.

Leak

Woods, I've went through this already. Like CJ said, to have gear oil at the engine end of the shaft, your pinion seal is leaking by. My bike only had a few thousand miles when my seal started leaking. It was covered by the warranty.

There are already a couple threads going with the samegear oil problem as your describing, give them a look for some ideas.

Leak

Since yours is an '01 guess you will have to fix it yourself or pay someone to do it.
