What's Your Occupation?

After graduating from high school on a graphic arts specialty, I continued in the printing trade. and hold three tickets in the trade,.... but have been working in the newspaper end as a "newspaper pressman" since '84. So that's what I do.

What's Your Occupation?

Retired at 56 and work part-time doing deliveries for a machine and tool company. Keeps me out of trouble. Actually I am the only person most of our customers meet in person, so I like to think of myself as the "Director of First Impression's". Before that I was the regional manager for AMF Bowling. Suprervised 11 bowling centers in Texas and Arkansas. Vietnam Veteran as an aircraft mechanic. The job I am most proud of.

CJ,
That's just wrong.....and yes....I am paying attention. How much did you have to pay chicks to watch you perform.... ??

As for me.....I am a Public Works Foreman (aka- Head Finger Pointer) in the Street/Storm Maintenance Division of a local municipality. I have worked in the PW Dept. here for over 30 years.

For 13 years I owned and operated a part-time fishing guide business....I also do some occasional outdoor writing for a regional fishing magazine called "Salmon, Trout, Steelheader".
Oh, so now instead of just standing around leaning on a shovel, you watch a bunch of guys standing around, leaning on shovels?

What's Your Occupation?

2 1/2 years at Nichols State University. Majored in math, minored in physical education. Pipeline welded for 12 years and worked part time 2 years with La State Police. Reconsidered at last minute going full time. Wish I had now, would have retired 9 years ago with 25 years of service. Hired on with Shell Oil in 1984 in a 1.4 Bcf gas processing plant and worked my way up to shift supervisor in 1999. Have remained there to date. I've been a member of the Emergency Response Team for several years trained in industrial firefighting, rescue, and as a hazardous material technician level. Plan on working 10 more years if I remain healthy enough. Plan on riding until I expire. ;)

What's Your Occupation?

I spent 46 years in the carpet installation business and retired from it 2 years ago.
Been building street rods as a side job since 1972. I owned WK's Automotive and Street Rods as a side business.

I started my rack business a little over 10 years ago and I just don't know when to stop working. ::)

Thanks to Blobama I don't think I will ever be able to retire... besides, the word "Retired" sounds too much like "retard"...

What's Your Occupation?

Started out, fitter/welder. Stayed with it throught the 70's. Laid off in the 80's. Then I turned a part time into a full time and eventually into an ownership doing locksmithing. It's what I do now, with about a 10 year break in the 90's to build a small parking lot striping and powerwashing company. With 50 people and spread out all over Texas 24/7 it was more than I wanted. I'll stick to locksmithing. I love it, it's interresting, and I don't have to pick up anything heaver than a screwdriver .

What's Your Occupation?

Brian has been a heavy equipment operator for 33 years and before that as a mechanics apprentice.

I was a waitress, a stay-at-home Mom, a finishing carpenter for 13 years in a mobile home plant, went to college at 40 and graduated with a diploma in Manufacturing Processing Technology, had a leather business for 2 years, ran a CNC router for a year, and am currently manufacturing PVC windows. I still do a bit of custom leather work and help my buddy Charlie in his silversmithing shop.
