Thumbs Up Freedom 55!

Wow today January 20th, I turned 55 & after 39 years working for the federal Government, (House of Commons) I am officially retired. No more drives to the city...no more meetings....Let the good times roll!

Congratulation and Happy Birthday. Just one question. You are 55 and worked for the government for 39 years. How did you manage to start working for the government at 16?

Congratulations, sounds like you did it the "right" way. I retired last year at 53, but it was sort of forced on me. Still nice though.

I think I'll wait for freedom 65, I need more years of service to build up the pension.

Vulcanguy, welcome to the retirement side. I retired at age 45 with almost 28 years service between the army and the RCMP. I work but not like I used to. Have a pretty good job driving a Prevost motorhome for an executive who won't fly. Run back and forth to Florida through out the year. When not travelling, I look after his fleet of cars. In the summer I get to do a lot of riding. Life is good!!
