Car Tire On Rear

I'm new to this site but it was recommended by someone on a different Kawasaki site.

My question is, has anyone put a car tire on the back of a 2004 Nomad 1500?

If so, what luck have you had.

I went to the Darkside webpage and didn't find any info. for the 1500.

I'm not sure if I can even have one mounted with the stock rim.

If anyone has any info., I appreciate hearing from them.

Thanks

I know someone has done it, but I can't remember who or even if it was on this forum. The 1500's have a 3.5" rim width, and I think there is a car tire that is a 175/75/16 but I cant remember the brand of it.

Car Tire On Rear

I did 3 this weekend in my shop.
1 on a 1500 Classic now with Nomad wheels front and back
1 on a 2000 Nomad
and
1 on a 2007 900 LT

The 1500's I put 195/60-16 Bridgestone Turanza EL400 on and the 900LT has the 195/65-15 General Altimax HP

You can use the Dulop SP 5000 195/60-16 or a Vredestein Comtrac 175/75R16 or 195/65R16

I'm sure there is more out there too.

Joe; How tight a fit for clearance are the 195 width tires and how do they look mounted on the 3.5" rims?

I pretty sure there is a Federal tire in the 175 width. If I remeber right, DragonChaser, one of the members here ran that tire for a while on a 1500. I'm sure he'll be along shortly.

By the way, welcome to the forum.

I'm currently running the same tire as BD, the Continental Vanco 8 in 185/75/16.

Send me an E-mail and I'll send you more info and some pics.

Ring,
It fits great between the swing arm. We did take a grinder to the left side just to clear a 1/8" off one spot, but it would have never hit anyway. The tire fits the rim perfect, just takes quite a bit of air to get it seated to the rim.

Bernsax, you need to do an introduction thread in the new member section so everyone can welcome you. Pictures are also nice for everyone to see.
