I will not split even if legal. Seems to dangerous to me. I do enjoy the HOV lane though.

thats the way I do it in California. You have to stay alert and look at the front tires of the cars in both lanes to see what they are doing.

Since the handlebars and/or crash bars stick out further than the bags there is no need to be spooked about the bags hitting a car.

But seriously, there are times when it would be good to be able to do it, like when the traffic is at a dead stop.

That's usually when I do it ells...... when the traffic is almost at a stop. You also have to feel the pulse of the "traffic" to make the decision to split traffic. You can see angry drivers on some days and other days everyone is calm sitting in traffic.

I watched the entire clip in sheer terror. It was a good perspective when he came upon the other rider in front and the clearance was next to nothing. I'm not sure if any one in the cages heard that anemic horn blast or not. Ahhhh! not this guy, EVER ! legal or not. Just an accident [your fault or not] waiting to happen. And it will. I felt like I was riding on the back of Trinity's motorcycle in one of the Matrix movies.

Announced on the news tonight that the AZ Governor vetoed the bill allowing lane splitting.

I do it here in California every once in a while. Just have to be careful. It's not that bad. Return from Vegas on I-15 on a Sunday afternoon and try not "lane sharing." You'll never get home.
