Oklahoma’s Wichita Mountains

Friday after work I hauled the bike to Framers house near OKC.
Saturday he was going to show me the Wichita mountains and the town of Medicine Park.
We took off about 8:30 heading south. The 48* temp made for a brisk ride but it warmed up to the upper 60’s by the afternoon.

Medicine Park is a cool little town right on a small river. There are a lot of shops and places to eat. We didn’t know it until we got there but a car show was going on. We stopped for lunch at the Plantation Inn, a old 3 story hotel and restaurant.

The Wichita Mountains seem to rise up out of nowhere and have a desert like beauty to them. Buffalo, Elk and Longhorn cattle roam free in the park.
We saw Buffalo and Longhorns but didn’t see any Elk.

We got back to David’s about 5:30 and I loaded up the bike and drove the 4 hours east to the house.

Thank you David and Lyn for the hospitality and showing me the area.

Here’s a few pictures.
