How are the North Central members holding up?

Well one of the benefits of a 12 hour schedule is days off scattered throughout the week. You just have to make the most of them, whenever they arrive

Hey Mike;

Are you going to the National Rally? Just wondered.

If not; are you looking to do a ride to Northern Illinois? I am going to put something together to see how many NCR members would be able to participate.

Unfortunately from your distance from Alton; it would require a multiple-day trip -- but you would get to ride all the way up the Great River Road along the "Ole' Miss" to the Galena area. Just doing that ride would be a fantastic ride if you could make it -- let alone the rest of the trip I have in mind.

Anyway; just inquiring. Let me know.

Greg

This year I really resented the weather. THe older I get, the worse it gets. I could do without the snow and ice.

HOT DOG- 40 degrees snuck in a little ride up the river road (Alton to Grafton and back). Good to get get her out of the garage!
I didn't make plans to go to Custer. A lot of uncertainty at work (in the vacation breaking area).
The spring ride idea up northvsounds like fun, though. I've been from St. Louis to Hannibal on the Missouri side and that's a nice ride.

Your riding is certainly making some of us jealous. Still far too cold up here.

As I said; I am going to post some dates and ideas on rides sometime late Feb. If you're at all interested; just speak-up.

Hey guys i just got back from Arizona for meeting. But I managed to sneak in a day of riding with Cactus Jack and Glassgod. We had good ride that Scott planned. Temps are 75-80 out there!! Perfect for the winter blues.

Don't hate for me it. ;)

We don't hate you. Just VERY jealous.
It couldn't have been that nice though. Weren't you the one who got stuck riding the HD? Of course I would take a scooter right now, just to be on 2 wheels.

Well, I've had my fix for a while- rode 2 days in a row. Now it's off to work tonight, then to OKC in the am. We get back Sunday just before the 3 days of "wintery mix"- yuck!

Yeah, I rode the the Road King. Nice bike. I liked the six speed and cruise. But I can honestly say that I like my Nomad better. I think it rides smoother. The Road King's clutch is not hydraulic and is kinda grabby.

I also don't like the sticker price!

Just my opinion though.

If you get a chance to catch-up on some of the posts in the "travel" board; you'll see we have been talking about you already. CJ posted the trip prior to you returning.

I deleted all the "bad-mouthing" posts I made about you before you came back.

Hate you? No... not much... only about a 99 measure of hate on a scale of 100!!

Sounds like it was fun. Glad to hear about it. I think you missed some of the deep-freeze temps we had here in the Midwest while you were gone.

I agree. I would be thrilled to ride a moped right now if it meant that the snow was gone!

What year road king? I thought all the new ones had hydraulic clutch, at least the touring models.

Well, if this weather is supposed to build character, we have become "characters" for sure.

Am looking forward to the "Old Muddy Run" this spring. Count me in. BnG aka Dave Mills

The bike was a 2009. It had a wet clutch but cable controlled. No hydraulic reservoir. Somebody correct if I'm wrong, won't be the first time. The bike is very nice but it seems smaller the the nomad.

Thanks Greg for removing the bad posts, I will try to do the same for you.
