I have intentions of being there. Have a few "things" to iron out on the schedule.

I plan on going to the rally next year. I won't commit 100% to it yet, as life always throws curves at me when I do. The national rally will be so close to me, about 425 miles, so it will probably never be closer.

I am absolutely going. My wife and I will be celebrating our anniversary at the Rally. I am getting a trailer to pull behind the Nomad. We wont be arriving until sometime Wednesday though.

Reservations are already made! This is my favorite place to ride and there are some awesome "back roads" that I like to ride.

The countdown begins. . . .

I saw that they have rooms blocked at the Bavarian Inn. I looked it up and unless they are giving us a price break they are $75 and up. I booked down the road at a little place called the Mile Hi Motel for $54. There is a restaurant next door on one side and a laundry on the other side. Custer is not a big place so it is actually only a few blocks from the Bavarian. (if you want to save a few bucks)

For those in the North Central Region attending the KawaNOW National Rally next June 16th through the 18th; I have access to a premier log home rental in Custer for next year's national rally.

It is owned by a client of mine. It sleeps 8 in four separate bedrooms; each with separate bathrooms. This log home is around 2,000 square feet; with a open format; and all the amenities. It is in a great location just outside of Custer with a paved road to it.

Depending on how many wish to share the facility the rate could be far less than the motels mentioned thus far in the posts. ($600 per night divided by however many want to be included -- up to eight total)

The home is owned by a client of mine. If anyone is interested; let me know as soon as you can as I will either commit to it or not based on response. I am opening the offer first to the members of the North Central Region however commitment has to be soon -- otherwise the offer will be given to the KawaNOW national staff next.

Just so you know; this is a very expensive log home (nearly $1 million dollars); thus would be best for those that would prefer a more relaxed; mature approach to the stay in Custer. If you plan on being "rowdy"; this would not be an option for you.

Those interested; please PM me rather than post it. I will not respond to any posts regarding this offer. I will provide a link to pictures of the home to serious inquiries only.

Sincerely, Greg Wilson, North Central Region Assistant Regional Leader

I'm actually glad you brought this up. I contacted the Bavarian Inn and they are supposed to give a discount for KawaNow members. If they're not, let me know and I will give them a call. Also, if any of you have been there, we are looking to schedule some meals at local restaurants.

While we plan to only have one "official" meal together, I'm very aware that it tends to happen that everyone goes to the same place. So, where do you recommend? What's good? Where should we avoid?

Thanks for your help!

If you have not been to Custer and need some local advice on restaurants; I can ask my client what his recommendations would be. He likely would have some suggestions. I will let you know via PM and this thread.

I'll have to see how far that is from Peoria, IL and see if I can swing it. It would be great to attend.

I will tentatively say yes. At 46, I am fairly laid back.

Just a hop, skip, and a step. I am going to trailer my bike there and then ride it. It is simply too long of a distance for me to ride it there given the time available for me to attend.

Greg,
That is a great offer and a great opportunity for members to get to know each other. I would absolutely ask your client for local advice. I find the locals always know the best places. On our honeymoon we spent a week in Deadwood and the guy that runs the bed & breakfast tipped us onto a small italian place upstairs from one of the casinos.
I dated an italian chick whose parents came straight from Italy and this place in Deadwood was dead on for her grandma's cooking.
The locals are great for information.

Socwbiker, I have seen in other posts that members are being quoted rooms in the 80 dollar range while their site states rooms $75 - $150. It doesn't look like there is much discount.

:'( Ouch, that is a long way (and I don't have a trailer). Maybe the next one that is say, a lot closer.
