All in all, the many changes to the Limited for 2014 made to improve the ride and handling, and the fit for my large-frame body, it was easy for me to choose another Harley. (Sorry Dave, but I never had the problems you did. I loved my '09.)

Looks like where I would like to be riding it now! I looked at the amber whiskey/vivid black; but opted for the red after long consideration. Various reasons why.
I like the Red too. Red is the proper color for a motorbike anyway. As usual, it looks better in real pictures than on HD's website.

The color combo is very nice, looks WAY better in person.

So you stepped up to the Limited? Nice, you're going to love it. I saw a red one at Chandler HD the other day.

This appears to be more of a wine-color than red; but still within that color family. I wouldn't mind if it were brighter. As mentioned before, I was not entirely in love with any of the available selections...

I can only hope Norm. Winters seem to get longer and longer to me as the years pass. I imagine this year may drag a bit more for me though.

I would agree; and in hind-sight I am glad I took your advice Mike.

Yep! The changes they made this year were too much to ignore for me. The test-ride sealed the deal for me...

It's better than black. It seems the vast majority of HDs I see down here are black. WTF? It's like we live in hell and they sell black bikes. Not the best choice for a hot climate. The Ultra has a burnt cayenne, which is a dark red. It's nice. The 2010 limited has a nice real red color as well.

Some prefer black because they are partial to it but many go with black because it's cheaper. As much as $2,000 cheaper than a custom paint scheme. In our area you will see more of the colors simply because the dealers don't have many black bikes on the floor.

Lots of black HDs here. Seems odd to me considering the heat. That said, the MSRP on colors isn't $2000 more, but if the dealers are getting that, one, god bless them, two, I'll pass. Seems the biggest tack on/scam is the service contract. They even try to sell them with BMWs and Jap bikes. I have to wonder whose pocket the extra scarole is better off residing? It's probably a standard thing too as a lot of the bike dealers here are owned by a couple companies, like RideNow and Bob Parsons. It kind of kills competition, I think. Anyway, I don't like black on a bike. It makes it less visible at night and absorbs heat. Everyone knows red is the proper color for a motorbike.

The attitude from a lot of Harley owners, as I have learned from Harley forums is "it has to be black". A certain segment of the HD buying public will not consider any other color.

My Nomad was black, as was the bike before it. When I was looking for a new bike, I knew it was not going to be black. Too hot in this climate and too common a color.

I love black bikes. I always say... my favorite colors are black and chrome.

However, after having owned several black bikes, I have to admit, they do attract radiant heat a lot more than other colors, and they are a pain to keep clean (not that I am a clean-nut). Thus, I was determined not to buy another black bike. I can see why someone would want to avoid one in the warmer climates.

Price difference between a black and stock two-tone bike is $1,000 (for the record). Custom colors can be more.

HD makes more black bikes than others. The pricing on black bikes makes them the dominant bike sold to the public because of it. I have a friend at HD Milwaukee in national promotions, who made that comment to me the other day. He, however, did say this year may be a year when they sell more color bikes. Don't know myself, just going with his comments.

I looked at several pictures we took of the bike at the dealer and decided not to post any of the pictures since none of them show how the bike really looks in person.

Apparently, cameras do not reproduce to color well at all. Two cameras were used and none of the pics were good at all. Don't know why, other than the camera doesn't pick-up the deep-brilliance of the paint, or the brightness of the color in daylight. May need Jared's lens-magic to get a good picture.

It's $1040 more on the limited, but less for the regular ultra. DK why. I prefer one solid color. I actually like the color choices more for the regular ultra. As far as taking pictures, it's all in the lighting.
