Glad you are planning on making the regional Don, can't wait to hang out at the circus tent with you guys. I do hope that "Dances with bar stools" will be there. I hope there is room for my Victory under your canopy cause it is such a SWEET bike that it may melt in the rain

glwilson, I'm still riding , on the Nomad I have no problem in the cold, it was 18 degrees when I left for work this morning, as long as there is no ice on the road, I'm good.
You are definitely tougher than I am...

We had a relatively decent November so far and there were a few days I could have ridden... even possibly today yet. But otherwise, it's too cold for my blood!

We're planning on attending the rally. Tried making reservations at Savanna Super 8 and the gal said we don't make reservations that far in advance! Guess we'll wait until January but didn't you guys already make yours?

I made mine online for both Savanna and PDC....

Now you have me wondering if they are good...

I just checked my reservations and they are still good.

We finally got some snow the other day... 3 1/2 inches. Why is it that when it snows I get strong feelings of wanderlust and want to go for a ride??

I just finished building a barrel stove and installed it in my garage. Not quite finished with the stove pipe, but it is through the wall to the outside. It draws the smoke out real good now, but I still have to extend it straight up with a rain cap. Now I'll be able to change oil and do other stuff to my Nomad in the dead of winter. Mama won't let me do that in the living room anymore.

Hey Dave, we got 4 1/2 inches from the same system that came thru Iowa. I also made my reservations on-line and received a confirmation # almost immediately, which is still good. I am happy to hear that you can work on your bikes this winter, makes the season much shorter. I am considering going with my wife to Las Vegas in Feb. just so I can rent a bike for a few days and do some riding. Normally I stay away from that town. I usually go for a ride everyday after work during the riding season, now I just wander around aimlessly for a few hours.

Thanks for the tip Ray. The more I think about it the more certain I am that I will do it. My wife is going to Hawaii with her mom and sisters the last week of Jan. Hope she doesn't spend all the money! It's been less than two weeks since I last rode and I have the shakes already.

I've been to Vegas a few times and rented a bike each trip. The ride out to Valley of Fire State Park is a great ride. (Then again I'm from Illinois so any road outside of the state is a great ride :-)

Just made our reservations in Savanna and PDC for the rally!
Can't believe we're making motorcycle plans when there's a blizzard outside the window!!

Hope the blizzard stays up there where you are!!!

We haven't seen any snow so far this year, which is fine with me.

There are still hard-core bikers riding in this cold around here. I suppose they'll ride all winter if it doesn't snow or get any colder than it has been getting.

Let the shift from La Nina to El Nino continue is what I say!!

S'pose to get up to 50 degrees later this week. I've been starting the bikes and running to normal temps. I open up the back garage door and let them exhaust out to the neighborhood. It makes all the bugs run away from the building.

Wish I could afford to put some V&H duels on the Drifter and make it sound like the Nomad. If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.

I miss everybody! But will see you all pretty soon!

Dave

You might be able to put duals on it with some fabrication...

My dad and I have decided to tentatively plan to attend the NCR Rally. He was a bit confused though. He had printed the information and thought the rally was in July . . . then eventually realized the info also said 2010. But I thought I'd point out the misprint on our rally page.

Hope to see you all in June!
