How is the September ride looking? Enough interest out there for it?

Haven't ridden much lately myself, just working a lot. Last ride was a couple weekends back, maybe 3, can't remember.

Anyway, might be able to sneak out the last weekend of the month so I'm just checking. -CB

This is a suggested route (map 1 of 3 in a series) for day 2 of the rally.

As mentioned, there are two other maps providing the route suggestion down to Galena, IL and then to Savanna, IL.

I will post the other two suggested route maps as I can. I need to shrink their file-size to post on this forum first.

I only made a couple road-changes to include a few roads I thought people would enjoy riding without making it too difficult for anyone to ride. (i.e., 162, 33, Wildcat Mountain, and 131)

Where are we meeting? LaCrosse? Prairie du Chien? End up in Galena or Savanna? I'd like to run the route south that Greg has suggested. Maybe he can go too. How about it, Greg?

I found out today that the fire department at La Claire, IA has a piece of the twin towers of 9/11 on display. Since we'll be in town to see the American Pickers store, maybe we can stop there on our first leg of the June 2012 Rally. Something to consider.

Have the dates been decided upon?

I saw a suggestion of the 24-25th. I will double-check; but that looks good to me as this moment.

The logistical issue is: where are we going to try to meet? With all of us coming from different directions the location may make it difficult for some to be able to meet and still make the entire ride.

Regarding any of the areas I mapped-out (in trying to stay with what you wanted Dave) I am familiar with most all the roads throughout those areas since that is where I ride 90% of the time... so from my view-point the "undiscovered" areas are going to be anything south of Savanna and on into Iowa. To some degree I have even been on most of those roads as well. So where we go isn't an issue with me.

I will suggest the best riding will remain in the southwestern quadrant of Wisonsin; however the more "tourist-interests" would be in the southern area you wanted to ride (i.e., Le Claire American Pickers, the Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, IA, and etc).

Just let me know what you decide and I'll likely be able to make it -- and if there is anything I can do to help out, just let me know.

Looking at the map it looks like we are all about 4 hours from Galena except for Greg of course. Maybe we should meet there and then we could go south or west? What do you guys think?

Are we meeting somewhere that Friday night so we have the entire day of Saturday to ride?? Or are we meeting as early as possible on Sat and then riding until Sat evening to stay somewhere -- and then wrapping it up on that Sunday?

I assume rooms are involved somewhere in this; so we'll need to be getting on this sooner than later...
