North Central Nat'l Rally Planning

Who is thinking of attending the National Rally at Maggie Valley, NC?

Arrival and check-in suggestion no later than: June 13th
Check-out: June 17th
Official rally activity dates: June 14-16 (Check the National Rally board for details.)

Many of us would cross paths on the way there -- thus thought maybe we could begin to get an idea of who is thinking of going so we could possibly meet-up and ride down.

I will be riding 90% of the way there; however my wife will be driving the truck with the trailer in tow -- just in case someone would need it. You never know. (No "smart" comments allowed about the HD guys and gals!! )

I know Rayski, Gibby, and a couple others said they were going or were interested.

I was thinking of leaving either late in the afternoon on Friday the 10th with intentions of stopping overnight around Columbus, Indiana. Or possibly taking-off early on the 11th.

Anyway... just throwing this out several months ahead of time to see what others are thinking...

Well Greg, you got me looking at the map already. I wasn't expecting to make the national rally but I might be interested in rolling up a group and heading down. Will keep an eye on the discussion thread. CB

Cal... you should make it if you can.

Two things... one is that it is really great to go to a "National" where you get to see the largest gathering of Nomads you'll ever see. Trust me... it is a "cool" feeling. I made it to the first in 2009 and it was great. Biscuits-n-Gravy, Rayski, and another member Roadman made from our area in '09.

Secondly... Have you looked at Google Earth 3D at that area? It is without a doubt a great riding area. So... it would be worth the trip.

If we could get a few people together to meet along the way and ride down... it would be a great ride. One that we'll appreciate forever -- I am almost assured of.

Our house could be a stop-off point for the night for you on your way down from MN. We might have Denny & Sally (Dmac) make also from MN. You guys could ride down together (or trailer it for part of the way) together and stop-off for the night at our house. Then we could head-out the next morning. Trailering would save a lot of time on the way down to here, or even further if wanted.

We could pick-up Rayski along the way, and possibly stop-off where Bluekaw lives in Columbus, IN. (Hopefully they both will go!!!)

Anyway... it would be great if it would work out. Start planning for this now if possible.

the more the merrier gentlemen we had a whole lot of fun at the last national if we can get a group to ride down ther it would make it even better and greg is right about seeing so many nomads in one place a preety wild site so heres looking forward to a great time

Count me in for a group ride to the National. I will be riding solo, my wife does not ride. Can leave anytime.

We are starting to get some interest here... that's a good thing. ;)

So far, a rough count of those I know having expressed interest in going includes:

Cal
Gibby
Dmac (and spouse)

Maybe Biscuits-n-Gravy (Dave) will go; and hopefully we can pick-up Bluekaw (Don and Melody) when swinging through Indiana.

That would make at least seven bikes.

While it is a "ways-off", it isn't too early for everyone to start to commit to it -- otherwise you'll find some reason not to go!!!

I am a definite. I would have come to the regional but had prior plans to go to the Black Hills, Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons with my brothers the same week.

I am booked at the Maggie Valley Inn.

I am checking-in on the 12th rather than the 13th. I am checking-out on the Friday the 17th.

I figure I can make it fairly far south on Saturday and stay somewhere in-route, and then make it the rest of the way on the 12th.

That may screw some of you up if you are going along; but I think if you look at it, we might as well make it down there over the weekend. Then we can ride a few places on Monday as an extra day.

Let me know if any others would be willing to do that.
