HOT weather - your gear solution - comfort, protection, or skip the ride?

While we're talking about the heat, what is this best thing for swamp butt. On longer trip I use bicycle short but sometimes that can be a pain. I've seen a lot of guys riding with sheep skin covers how good does that work. Harley makes a nice cover that let's air though but I can't think of it name. So what do you guys think, let me know.
