Nomad Coil

I am transfering a Baron's tachometer from my Yamaha 650 onto my recently acquired Nomad. On the back of the Nomad coil(s), there are two male spade connectors. The base of one is Blue and the base of the other is Black. Is it safe to assume that the one with the Black base is the negative terminal that I will use to hook my tach pulse wire onto? Many thanks.

thats fine. Depending on the type of the tach it probably wouldn't matter which way it was hooked up. Black is universal ground btw...

Turned out I had to hook the pulse wire from the tach to the coil spade with the blue base. That's the problem with transferring components from one bike to another; you don't always have detailed instructions and have to experiment. Anyway, the tach works and that's all that matters.
