Patchwork?
Never had many patches before and usally they were 'iron-on' patches. Is there any other way to put these patches on leather jackets or vests without having to sew them on? Any kind of adhesive I could find? Know several ladies who would sew them on for me but would rather not drill tiny holes in my leather unless completely necessary. Thanks. Jamie P.

Personally, I wouldn't try and glue anything on leather. Leather stretches too much and has natural oils that would keep them from adhering well.
I go to a bike shop over in Mesa, there's a gal there who sews patches while you wait for a couple bucks each. Check independent shops in your area or look for places that do leather repair.

Using adhesive eliminates the possibility of ever removing them because the leather underneath will be stained. I bought a denim jacket and cut off the sleeves to make a vest. That is where all my patches go so if I ever need a new leather I don't have to worry about transfering the patch. I did make the vest large enough to fit over the jacket.

jamie, I just tried all that glue stuff about a year ago. NO glue sticks to leather. You have to sew them on. and it aint cheap in someplaces. you sew them on near your pockets and they will sew the pockets shut. all kind of troubles being a biker. LOL

Otherwise... dump the nice leather jacket and get one that you intend to wear for years without worrying about damaging it or how it looks -- something you can put some mileage on.

I guess I'll find a seamstress, then. I know a couple ladies who will gladly do it. Thanks. Jamie

I glued a crest onto my leather gloves, to cover a small tear in the leather. I used superglue doubting that it would hold, to my surprise it stuck on really well, and its been there for two seasons so far.

Thats why you wear a vest over the jacket. Patches go on the vest.
