Question Two questions

For those Vaquero and Voyager owners.

Has anyone else felt that the mirrors do not provide enough vision to the rear of the lane you are riding in? I am thinking of changing them out for some that will give me a better sight picture of whats going on behind me. Has anyone else done this?

Does your temperature gauge go above the half way mark when in slow traffic? It has only gotten up in the low 60's here and mine quickly goes between the half and 3/4 heat marks.

Thanks

dave....

1) Yes. I took off the switch housing and ground off the pin that locked it into the handlebar. This allowed me to adjust the mirror mount so I could see and also be able to reach the switches.

2) Yes. The fan doesn't even kick on until the needle gets above halfway. My temp moves up quickly when I'm in traffic.

2010 Nomad 1700.

Not sure this will work for everyone, but I adjust my right side mirror for spy (more to look behind me) and my left side mirror to look more beside me.

I've been doing that for years so I know to look beside me if I change to the right lane. Nice to see behind me when stopped at a light or stop sign, or just to see if someone is behind me when driving. But most of my riding is two lane roads.

No problems for me with the mirrors. The temp gauge does rise quickly in traffic, known issue.

I'm kind of a big guy so I always see my shoulders in the mirrors, the only time I didn't was when I put the apehangers on my nomad. That was awesome, both mirrors were clear as could be, saw nothing but roadway behind me.
As far as the temperture guage, yep thats normal, I asked the same question the first night I rode my vaquero home.

Dave, I added some mirror extenders to mine-solved the mirror problem for $20 and they don't look too bad. Search for motorcycle mirror extenders on Amazon.
My temp guage does the same thing-normal.

I adjust my mirrors so the outside of my shoulders are on the inside of each mirror. I don't have any problem with people sneaking up on me without being able to see them.

I have these http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/221...ounted-Mirrors. Kinda cheesy looking but they work well. I see just a bit of my shoulders in the mirrors.
