Freedom install 2-1 for voyager problem -solved

A couple of things, one tip, and one annoying fit problem, first the tip, when putting on the heat covers, use tie wraps to hold them in place while you are putting on the hose clamps. Now the annoying part, for whatever reason the rear brake lever jams up against the heat cover for the front pipe, I ended up having to put spacers of 1/2 inch between the frame and the floorboard mount, I have never moved or altered the brake linkage so this appears to be a fitment problem, I have tried emailing them to no avail as their email addresses keep bouncing back my emails.

Mine don't have that problem on my Vaq. They actually fit perfectly. Did you put on the pipes before you put on the heat shields? Did you remove the floorboard assembly?

Oh, and email is a terrible way to try to get a hold of them. Call, they are actually very helpful.

I ended up calling using the free google voice app and you are correct, they are quite pleasant and easy to deal with, I raised the floor board issue and their tech said they should be no problems with using a spacer, although I did go with a longer bolt to compensate.

Did everything else fit right? Could you post some pics of the system? Or if you want, PM me and you can email me directly. I would love to be able to help.

I also verified the part number for the quiet baffle, according to their tech it is AC0029 that is used, not AC00000 as shown on their web site.

pics of the installed pipe, as you can see from the one picture it was a tight fit for the rear brake linkage.

OK, someone please educate me. Why "destroy" the aft end symmetry of the bike by going to a 2 into 1?

It looks like your front pipe is sitting lower and a bit forward compared to mine.

Gotta say, that chrome looks good on that bike tho...

I'm with you. I have always liked duals on baggers, but with the unevenness of the FP duals, and the flaws Ray has talked about with the V&H Pro Pipe (not to mention, I'm not a big fan of the sound), all put together with the stepped headers and baffle design of the FP's, I went ahead and got the 2-1 for performance reasons. Plus, I wanted all black, and don't like thie look of the stock heat shields...too bulky.

I did find one hose clamp at the rear of the heat shield for the front pipe had not gone through the clamp part in the shield, I redid it, and moved the shield back a little, seems to fit better now, I managed to cut the spacer down to 1/4 inch from 1/2 inch, was still pretty close but livable.

Problem solved, it was indeed the missing bracket, got the bracket today and now have the clearance needed, no spacers. I have to say that the Freedom performance 2-1 is actually quite a mellow pipe, nice sound.
