NCR: Labor Day ride...

Looks like a couple of NCR members are going to join me on my annual Labor Day ride.

Gibby is meeting me in LaCrosse Sat night, as is Cal. Cal will only be joining us for dinner as he is meeting family in the area. But Gibby and I are riding all-day Sunday north of LaCrosse. We'll head our separate ways back home on Monday.

Gibby and I both like to ride all-day, and fast (as much as possible), so it works out good - although sometimes I do have to wait for him.

Seriously, we do this trip because we both like to ride all-day with minimal stops. It is not a ride some would enjoy if you prefer a more casual ride.

We have done this for a few years now, and it always turns out to be a great trip.

Hope others are able to get out an take a long ride this weekend.

I am really looking forward to this ride Greg, and I can guarantee you will NOT be waiting on me. You may have mistaken my dropping back to avoid being sprayed with oil as not being able to keep up

Sounds like you'll have a fun time. My bike gets out of the shop on Friday and I will be testing it out by riding up to the Green Bay area for the long weekend.

3-day ride has been completed. I pulled into my drive at 3:10 this afternoon. The trip-meter was an even 750 total for the trip.

Met with Cal and his wife, and Gibby on Sat-night to eat in LaCrosse, WI. Was a fun night.

On Sunday Cal and his wife met some family members in LC; while Gibby and I rode for somewhere around 300 miles or so on on a bunch of great roads in and around LaCrosse.

Went for a steak dinner Sunday night, and called an end to that day.

We met for breakfast, and then went our separate ways homeward bound today (Monday).

Again... was a great ride, and it was great to meet-up with a couple of the VBA NCR members!

We will definitely do it again...

Had a great time this Holiday weekend. Was nice to see Cal again and to meet his lovely wife. Greg, Kendra and I had a great Sunday riding some familiar roads and some new roads around LaCrosse. We went as far north as Fountain City, so we had to stop at Hansen's Hold-Up. As always, hanging with Greg and Kendra was a great time and hope to make this ride an annual event. We also found a whole new meaning for "drop and roll"

We were using National Cash Register but ran into some Registered Trademark issues so we changed it to North Central Region

I remember National Cash Register because when my mother had a small restaurant she had a National Cash Register. Oh yeah Greg, I believe that you may be mistaken about the IBM thing. That is understandable considering your advanced age plus an upcoming birthday

I was thinking AT&T; but when I think about it; even they spun it off as an independent company again. So there is still an NCR Corp.; and what a volatile one it is. Apparently ATM's are still a commodity though, since that is one of their main product lines...

Hey Gibby... just remember... 5'-6.5" and drop-n-roll... that's all you need to know...

LOL! Drop-n-roll has nothing to do with height... or dropping a bike. It's a secret... with a secret handshake (so I am told).

Glad to hear you guys had a good trip. Central Illinois got some much needed rain, although it cut into my riding time.
