Hello All from Big Bend, Texas.......

Hello everyone.......Trip, txcwdancer, coon and Bluetongue coming to you from a bar in Alpine, Texas, buried deep in the Big Bend area of Texas.

If you don't know where that is, it is located at the very bottom of the ear of Texas in Southern West Texas.

About 12 of us left for a week-long trip riding the roads in the Big Bend area. tomorrow, we head back home. We've had a great three days riding the river road (170 along the Rio Grand river), hwy 118 and others).

This is the first time I've been able to log in this week. I'm sitting in a bar in Alpine drinking a Dos Equis logged into my laptop. This bar has the best wifi in town.

Txcwdancer will be logging in and leaving some pics of the trip as well as pics on his blog.

Hello all, I'm on my way home. Rode 470 miles today from Alpine, TX to Rockdale, TX. Will arrive home tomorrow.

You ask about the deer, waterman.....txcwdancer will have a full writeup on it later......but.....while we were riding on hwy 674 between Rocksprings, TX and Bracketville, TX last Friday, a deer jumped out of the tree line to my right, ran parallel right next to me while I was riding, then it decided to jump over me. I ducked my head and gave it the gas. The deer jumped up and over me and my Nomad, swung around and scrapped one of it's hoofs on my helmet, twisted it's back in mid air and landed over on the other side of the road. Txcwdancer saw it all, he was traveling right behind me.

Needless to say, I feel lucky to be alive. That deer could have done more damage.....I'll have more pics after I get home....below is one of me (green shirt) waving at a guy on a Gold Wing in Big Bend National Park. Txcwdancer took some excellent pics and video. More to come.
