Baffle fiberglass blow out

Good morning all. I installed the Freedom quiet baffles onto my Freedom slip-ons. Only rode about 20 miles before I noticed the fiberglass coming out at the end cap on one side. After taking it apart it was apparent that it was a complete blowout. The fiberglass wrap seems to be only attached to the baffle by some kind of tape. I would love any input on why this may have happened and whether the new baffles are ready to install as is. Not sure if Freedom is open today. Thanx a lot

Next set, or if you yourself rewraps that one, go down to the hardware store and get yourself some stainless steel wire....
Cut yourself off about a 4' piece for each side....
At a 1/4" from the edge of the fiberglass (with the baffle in a vice holding the end) put the center of the wire at that 1/4 " mark, make 2 wraps, twist the 2 ends tight about 3 twists, then criss/cross your wires at every 1/4 to 5/16 intervals, till you are at 3/8s from the end of your baffles fiberglass wrap.
Now finish off with about 2 or 3 twists, pull it down good and tight, let 1 end lay down against the baffle going straight down its centerline, begin wrapping the wire around and over that other wire thats straight....give it wraps to get to the 1/4" at the end of fiberglass, get the 2 ends pull them tight and five it 3 to 4 twists....cut off the excess, and push the ends down, so it won't get between the pipe and the baffle.
That should last you for a few years before you baffle material decides to go south....
