What's Ya'lls Opinion

Opinions on the 2015 1700. This has 5036 miles and was bought new in June 2016. Warranty until June 2019. Bone stock. Needs the flash for sure but needs a seat for my big butt. I think he would let it go for $9800. He went to $9900 yesterday. Bought it from an injured neighbor (permanent back) to keep the bank from repoing and he rides a Valkyrie. Just trying to recop his money. Give me the pros and cons on this bike.

Seems like a hell of a deal. Low mileage and a warranty. What’s not to like?

Pro’s-fixed fairing, radio, cruise, 1700 motor (faster than the 1600) top load bags (I love them)built in running lights, trunk, did I mention cruise.
Con’s- seat sucks ( just upgraded to RDL) stock pipes hold heat in even after flash, will need to flash but you know that, radio is week but easy to upgrade.

Looks like a good price, buy it you won’t regret it.

Jump on it. I picked my 2012 Voyager up July 2017 with 4,600 miles on it and it still has warranty until Dec 2019 for $9,250. Do the flash, you won’t regret it. I absolutely LOVE this bike!

I went from an '02 Nomad to a '10 Voyager. Loved that Nomad, it was an awesome bike. We got the Voyager for just one trip (USA '15), and the intention was to trade it off for another bagger like the Nomad when we got home... Never happened... Three things made it a keeper. Ivan's flash, an RDL seat (I see your butt knows that one already), and after-market suspension.

Buy that bike and you'll never regret it for a moment Chuck. Fond memories of your 1500 will never entirely fade though.

As stated above buy it and the Gods of Ivan when you get it done will make you proud. You will swear you have bought a brand new bike with more power on command. The RDL seat like Peg will put the plus in your ride and make you a happy bumb for ever.

Get that bike you will love it.

Buy it and you will be happy you did

That's the same model I have and it was a nice step up from my 1600 Nomad. I did a 4000 mile trip in 9 days this last summer and the bike was very comfortable the whole trip.

I went from my 01 Nomad to my 13 Vaquero . I'm pretty sure if you bought it you'd fall in love on the first ride , after you flash it of course ! There's a lot more weight to contend with but I found that it wasn't that difficult once you get used to it . You can't beat the fairing mounted to the frame . Once you flash it you won't believe how much power that 1700 will give you .

I see you have had two ultra's. You like the Voyager better? Any comparison notes?

Yes I had an 01 and 08 Ultra. I do think the Ultra is a very nice bike to ride but at the cost compared to the Voyager it was a no brainer for me.

I enjoy the Voyager as much as the Ultra but I do miss the 6 gallon tank. The Voyager is easier to handle at slow speeds. The seat height is a little higher on the Voyager but I can still flat foot with my 30" inseam. I like the frame mounted fairing more than the steering mounted one. I did have Chuckster extend my shifter and brake arms and that made a big difference, but I did the same for the Ultra's. I like the lower fairings on the Voyager better for the venting and blocking wind but miss the glove boxes the Ultra had. The glove boxes on the Voyager are easier to get to and lockable which is nice.

I have put on over 18,000 miles without and issues so far and I can't say the same about the Ultra. The only reason I purchased the 08 was because I didn't want to keep the 01 without the warranty. It had many visits for repairs and a few tows to the dealership during that time. The Voyager has no deductible on warranty repairs where the Ultra had $50.00 for each time.

I had all intentions of getting another Ultra after the 08 was sold but after owning an 05 Nomad for over a year I decided to look at the Voyager. I am very pleased with my decision and do not miss the Ultra at all.
