crazy Help, electrical gremlin

Hi All,
2004 Nomad, turned 100K miles today, V&N pipes, Thunder Air intake, fuel manager. It lives under a waterproof tarp outside (present situation)
My problem - when engine is cold, it will not start after a rain. It runs without trouble otherwise. It has the original wires on it - which are not arcing (sprayed water mist around plugs in the dark) KEY POINT - went to start it after an overnight rain WITHOUT setting it upright as if you were going to ride (still resting on the kickstand) and it started right up - WTF. Moved car out of the way, Got on the bike and set it upright and now it WONT start - turns over fine but no go. Put it back down on the kickstand and it started right up ????? HELP!
Thanks Scott

Yep, one of your safety switches....Clean your kickstand switch good with contact cleaner, should cure it....
Could be the vehicle down sensor, but they very very seldom go bad......
The bad part of it, they all interact together....the clutch safety switch, the neutral safety switch, kick stand safety switch,Vehicle down safety switch.....
