Squeeky headlight

So i spent all day yesterday replacing the fan on my 06 Nomad, thinking the bearing was going out..only to find after starting her up to refill the antifreeze that she still squeaks....so i start putting my hands on parts i cant reach while riding...and when i put my hand on the headlight the noise goes away...does anyone else have this issue and how did you fix it?....

I had the same problem on my 01 Nomad . I popped the head lite out and tightened all the bolts , especially the ones the held the unit to the forks . The headlight could be rubbing on the chrome ring around it . I put some black weather stripping along the inside edge of the chrome ring . No more squeaks .

Hope this helps ...

By the way : Welcome to the forum !!!

The two side screws on the headlight of my 2000 work themselves loose from time to time and I have to re-tighten them. If yours is the same set up, check your side screws for tightness. If you tighten them be very careful they are very easy to strip out. Not the screw but the part you tighten it into. That squeak can drive you nuts after awhile.

You guys are overthinking this. Easy solution. Cheap & durable. And 100mph tape comes in a variety of colors to match (or compliment) your bikes paint!

Well there's no doubt it would work for sure. Good start for building a RAT bike.

TC can help! He had a black trim ring that just fit and took care of his problems. It fit very nicely and looked stylish against the chrome.
