Looking to add hard trunk

I'm looking to add a hard trunk to my blacked out 2003 Vulcan Nomad 1500 FI.

There doesn't seem to be a ton of options, and I'm not really equipped to do much fabrication myself. However, I've been looking at this trunk.

https://www.amazon.com/TMS-TBOX-JK10...BDMZ8BE40X3CVG

Does anyone else have any experience with it? I plan on doing quite a few 2 to 3 day trips on it with the Mrs, and the side bags were ok, but would like some more room for storing things.

Any other suggestions are greatly welcomed!

thank you!

I was reading the reviews and found one from a guy with a Nomad from June 27, 2016, that is titled "but overall - I am pleased. Since my Vulcan had a two tone paint ... " You should be able to search for that title to find the review. Or search the reviews for Nomad. Looks good on the bike per the pictures in the review.

That's a Mutazu trunk. You get what you pay for.

I'm mounting a razor trunk down low, right above rear fender, 1" off, with backrest so driver can use it.
It looks low and streamlined....folk thats seen it like it....just needed a little more room....I ride solo....

That sounds awesome, but I'm doing mostly two up on this bike. I have a Buell XB12X that I do most of my solo riding on.

Looks like I'll need to fabricate myself up a mounting system.

I have one

I have one on my bike. It will last about 2 to 3 years. This is my 2nd one. Very cheaply made but does function the way I want it to.

Look on Ebay for the "King Tour Pack for Harley Davidson Touring XL Beer Box Trunk Pak with LED Lights" (Seller information
colton_customs) . Good looking and nice quality.

Purchased a "Wompus" rack to mount it on and it worked out great.

Wompus will make you a better mount than you could make yourself. That is his business. He used to be a member here.

As far as I'm concerned, the best choice is a genuine Harley tour pak. They're solid and have plenty of options and replacement parts.

Weight distribution wise. My 07 1500 Classic was very sensitive to weight behind the passenger seat.

Wompus did a hell of a nice job with the mount. Powder coat finish was flawless.

The tour pak I referenced is comparable to the HD pak. Was anxious about it being like the $100 paks that are out there till it came in. Compared it to a factory one and the material thickness is the same. Just as sturdy. The hardware is even nicer. But I guess the best part is the $400 price tag instead of $600 plus for the HD.

I have a trunk box the I bought off eBay, mounted on a Wompus rack, on my 2002 Nomad. The box looks to be a twin of the box you are looking at on Amazon. Cactusjack is right, you get what you pay for.. This on has been in service for about 3 years. I'll run it until I find a Harley tour box. They show up for time to time, and disappear just as quickly, so you need to stay on your toes. Whatever you do, the Wompus rack is a great place to start your up grade... IMHO

Good luck with your trunk box quest.
