Hello, I just bought new leather gloves and a new leather jacket.
Okay,......so what I do to them so they last many years. Is there a special treatment, hand lotion, mink oil?
The leather is black, red and has some white.
Thanks

any good treatment has the potential to darken leather. I personally use saddlesoap to clean and then use mink oil. You are not trying to coat it in a layer. Just enough to make it look wet is enough. This is mostly to keep it from drying out. I do it once a year. usually in the spring because my leather jacket is also my heavy winter jacket because of the liner. I have had my jacket and boots and chaps for 7 years and they look almost as good as new except for some normal wear near zippers, the soles of the boots, etc.

I dont do anything to my leather gear. I figure the bug juice is a good sealer. It sure is hard to get off the windshiled !!!

I watched a show once and the tanners said they spend lots of time and money getting oil out of leather and people buy stuff to put oil in it and wonder why it doesn't last
