Italian Mosquitoes

My bride and I just returned from Italy and a Mediterranean cruise, celebrating our 25th anniversary.
We spent a couple days in Rome, Italy. The traffic was incredible. Most of the cars are very tiny...smart cars, Fiat 500's, etc. And then there are the scooters. There are as many scooters as there are cars. Every now and then a real bike would be in the mix. Our driver referred to the scooters as mosquitoes...car drivers always want to "squish" them. The scooters do not obey any traffic laws. They pass on the right, pass on double solids, speed, weave in and out...all sorts of crazy stuff. When you come to a red light, all the scooters proceed to the front of the line. When it's green, it's like a Vespa gang, minus the leather jackets. By the time you're at the third or fourth light, there could be 50 scooters jockeying for position at the head of the line. It was amazing.
There is no moral to this story...I just wanted to share some of the crazy riding we witnessed. Thank goodness we don't ride like that here!

Yah me too . I went to cuba a few years back and told the wife it would have been nice to be able to ride around on my bike site seeing . But when we got there I immediately changed my tune quickly . We have it way to easy here !

We celebrate our 25th June next year . Seems very rare these days . Congratulations

Thanks, Barry! Sounds corny, but I think staying married this long was easy, thanks to my bride being my best friend! :)
