I just have my wife open the garage door... and fetch the beer.
(I am going to be shot for that comment)

I attached my opener to the fairing with a piece of velcro, you may find a convenient spot to do something similar.

Damn Garage Door...
Never had any fancy door on any garage, but if you want there is room behind the tank under the seat on the left side. I tie wrapped a passing lamp switch there 2 years ago, and it is still there.
One of these days I'll re-locate it to my left thumb. The one I use has a blue led light, but unless the lights are on no one sees the switch. No drilling nuthin'.

Damn Garage Door...
I bought one of these at Sturgis.....
found here: http://handlebarclips.com/ Very simple design that makes you bang your head on the wall and say "Why didn't I come up with that" ....but it holds a cell phone with a belt clip nicely so you dont have to worry about it coming off while riding and also will double nicely to hold my garage door opener with a visor clip on it.

Damn Garage Door...
I am just getting really sick of having to take the door opener out of my car, put it in my pocket, carry with me the whole day, etc.
http://www.amazon.com/Carper-Chain-G...6936261&sr=8-1 I bought this little remote from Amazon.com that I just keep on my keychain along with my house keys and car keys. When I leave or come home, I just have to reach in my pocket. Don't even have to take it out. I'm missing out on the satisfaction of a job well done, but it didn't require any work either. :-)

Damn Garage Door...
The gadget link is what I was looking for. I will have to go out and buy another gargage door opener, and I assume to hardware store will have the push button. I should have just about everything else that I need to do the job.
Thanks for the input. I will post a picture of mine when I am finished with it. Thanks, Brian |

I have a pocket on my tank bib and just keep it in there. No problem getting to it at all.

Todd, that is almost what I use to clip the green house walls with.. The conduit is smaller than 1 inch of course for a 10x 10 plastic tent, but the clips can be made of 1 inch gray plastic conduit and cutting a section out so it pops over the bar anywhere you want can be done.
I don't have a clue how a garage door opener is made, but if it can be riveted, screwed or glued to a clip the problem should be a done deal. The conduit can be painted... If that rig spins on the bar any you can use self sticking windiw insulation which comes in black to gag it up.

Damn Garage Door...
I followed Gadget's plan for wiring. When it came to mounting the switch and the remote, I just wanted the switch mounted up high. Since I already had a box for the light & horn switches plus for my display, this appeared to be the best fit.
