Yes, and Mesquite was miserably hot.

I was thinking about just wearing it around my neck since I'll be sporting my modular helmet.

I bought an HJC IS-MAX-BT a few years ago, I only use it for touring because I have my comm headset mounted on it. Same helmet I had in Crescent City.

Do you consider it "noisy"? I might be looking for a different modular, I bought a Scorpion EXo 900, love many of the features like being able to transform it into an open face, the sunshade, etc. But it starts to hurt around my forehead after about 90 minutes. It is kind of noisy but that might be a trait with most modulars.

Walmart sells a blue auto "exterior drying towel" made from PVA (PolyVinylAlcohol) about $6. You can get the same thing at sports shops for 4 times the price and it's exactly the same thing. 3 sq.ft. of towel you can cut into 3" to 4" strips. Wear it as is or tied inside a bandana. Keep it moist in a zip lock and re-hydrate when it dries out. Carry a couple to swap out and it should help to beat the heat.

It's the most comfortable non-1/2 helmet I've used. I mostly wear half helmets, so that's all I have to compare to. Is it noisy? I wouldn't think it's too bad. Since my comm headset is mounted on it, I use the helmet speakers to listen to tunes while riding.

A few months back I bought a Shark Evoline 3 ST Century Hi Viz Helmet just like the one in the video.

It is very comfortable and quiet! It is so quiet that I stopped using my "Big Ears" ear plugs because I couldn't hear the engine while riding.

The first time you are in the open position the weight on the back of the head takes a few minutes until you stop noticing it.
Also it is one of the few helmets that is ECE 2205 approved with chinbar in both open and closed position.

I have hit some hot weather thus far on my ride and there again I hit wet snow yesterday on US 550. I have been modifying my ride somewhat based on what the afternoon temps are going to be. I get up and on the road just at the sum is coming up and stop around 1 or 2 PM. All goes well. See ya soon.

Since you and Dave are debating on changing your plans.
I will start to make changes with my plan on meet-ups on the ride to Nampa. With you backing out then Grant and I will set a definitive meet-up time with Bill.
There is always next year.
