Fuel pump

I have a 1999 nomad (actually Coach informed me at nationals I have a 1998)

I am trying to hook up an auxiliary fuel tank. The problem is I cant find the fuel pump. 2 friends also cannot find the fuel pump.

Possible I dont have one?

I have a fuel tank with petcock coming out of it. Fuel line from petcock goes through an in-line fuel filter before going into the carb.

Fuel tank only has 2 lines that attach to it. One is a drain line from the fuel gauge housing under tank (Small black plastic piece) the other looks to be just a vent line.

I know I have been sniffing fuel fumes today but I cannot find a fuel pump on this bike. Supposedly its under tank on right side, but I dont see it. :-[

Any suggestions?

If you tank has a petcock, then it's gravity feed and there is no fuel pump.

We've been PMing. Th 99s (98s) did come with a fuel pump, but they will run fine without it through gravity feed. I know some guys had their fuel pumps start to leak and just eliminated then because MawKaw is pretty proud of those. When mine started to leak about five years ago, I opted to replace it because of the aux tank.

Daryl,

I was thinking of your bike with the aux tank and didn't think you had a fuel pump. I stand corrected.

Fuel pump

I would of said it doesn't have a fuel pump either. Since my old bikes are all petcock / gravity fed, thought it would be the same.

Daryl, why do they have a fuel pump? Doesn't make sense.

By the way, Daryl, my brother has the same exact bike / color as yours. He was talking tonight about how terrible his range is between fill ups. I was trying to find that post a while back where you had some pics of your setup with the auxiliary gas tank in your trunk, it was pretty impressive.

Could you PM me those pics? Would like to send them on to my bro (he's not a KawaNow member).

Fuel pump

I got all my parts in and installed them today. YAYYYYY a working tourtank in the tourpak..

I did a bit of looking for the fuel pump and found it for $166.85 at MR Motorcycles. This was the place that hosted a lunch at the national rally. Nice to throw them some business after that.

Reckless fairing, JTD lowers, and the tour pak go to paint tomorrow.
