Vaquero stuck/jammed seat release

Good morning folks!

The seat release on my 2015 Vaquero is stuck/jammed and I don't wanna snap the key. Can't get the seat off. Any suggestions on how to get at it and subsequently release it?

Thanks.

John

This happened to me when I first got my bike. The seat fits very tightly to keep it from flopping or rattling, I guess. Like you, I didn't want to snap the key so I ended up taking the seat release mechanism off the bike and pulled the cable with something stronger than the key - pliers. Make sure you press down hard on the seat as you pull the cable.

Thanks... I'll work it. Very nice bike by the way!

Try pushing down on the seat to relieve pressure on the lock.

I have to push down on the very front part of the passenger seat, directly over the latch mechanism of my Vaquero to get mine to release.

And after you finally get it off... take the seat latch bracket off from under the seat, and put a small washer under each side to lift the bracket just a little further away.

Took your advice re the washer awhile ago when you posted in the thread where I was getting my seat modded, works like a charm.....Mike

I usually just put my left knee on the seat and put a little weight on it as I'm turning the key.
